BOS approached our branding agency in London to create a bold and visually captivating brand identity and bottle label design for their new range of gins launching across Europe. The concept needed to tap into the rich mythology of Norse Viking legends, offering a compelling narrative that would appeal to adventurous gin lovers. With several team members passionate about Viking history, this project felt like a perfect creative alignment from the outset.
The Creative Solution
As one of the more imaginative branding firms in London, we explored ways to build a narrative-driven brand through illustration and packaging. Our design concept revolved around creating a series of Norse-inspired characters that wrap around each bottle, evoking the mystique and power of Viking gods and warriors—think Odin, Floki, or Thor. These figures aren’t immediately obvious at first glance, but as you look closer, the intricate details begin to tell individual stories. Each component within the illustrations reflects different gin botanicals and flavour profiles, merging myth with taste.
Packaging Design InnovationOur packaging design wraps elegantly around the glass bottle using a die-cut shape and silk-screen printing directly onto the glass surface. Each flavour is distinguished by unique runes and hidden design elements within the artwork, adding layers of meaning and collectability. The high-contrast black-and-white illustration style brings a dramatic, poetic quality to the final product—something that truly stands out on the shelf and aligns with premium positioning.
